Sculptor Kent Laforme discusses his exhibition,"Altissimo", at the Elliott Louis Gallery from June 2 to 20, 2009. The exhibition consists of marble sculptures that depict interpretations of different fabrics in stone. T-shirts, handkerchiefs, pillowcases and socks are carefully arranged, then carved in order to re-present both a landscape and the object's relation to the figure.

The title of the show refers to Kut Vonnegut's book, Slaughterhouse Five - the paintings, often seen through the eyes of children, reflect how man's greed can lead to all manner of apocalyptic action.
